‘Bhan Singh Dhillon Memorial  Trophy – Inter House Cultural Champion’

Sardar Bhan Singh Dhillon was born in 1936 , Salempur, Punjab. Although he didn’t get formal education from any institution, yet he has keen understanding and adaptability. He outshined the legacy of his family with hard work. Helping the poor and needy is the part of his nature since childhood; hence he is the known face of the society. He led his life with honesty and pride. His personality reflects the rich culture and values of Punjab.

In recognition to his valuable contribution towards the welfare of society; we feel honored to launch ‘Bhan Singh Dhillon Memorial Trophy – Inter House Cultural Champion’. This trophy is dedicated to the ideal life of Mr. Bhan Singh Dhillon.

‘Prof. Kulwant Singh Grewal Memorial Trophy – Inter House Debate &  Declamation Champion’

Prof. Kulwant singh Grewal born on 1941 is a language scholar in Bengali from the Jadavpur University, Calcutta. He is a well- known contemporary poet in both Punjabi and Hindi literacy circles. Prof. Grewal has published various Punjabi books including Tera Ambran’ch naan Likhiya, Asin Putt Dariyavan De, and has also authored eight books in English, Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi. Among many of his accomplishments, he has  been awarded the Dhaliwal Award in poetry and the Shironmani Kavi Award in 2014. He has also been honoured by the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar.

After retirement from the Punjabi University , Patiala, as Director, Professor Grewal remains associated as a Senior fellow.

In recognition to his valuable contribution in the field of Education & Literature, the Government of Punjab feels honored to confer Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Achievers award upon Prof. Kulwant Singh Grewal On the auspicious occasion of 550th Birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 10th Nov, 2019 at IKGPTU, Kapurthala (Punjab)
