ANNUAL REPORT

ANNUAL SCHOOL REPORT-2022-23

Honourable chief guest of the day Sr. Dalvir Singh Dhillon, one of the chief patrons of the school Sr. Balwant Singh, other invited dignitaries, Chairman of the school Mr. Rubinder Singh Randhawa, respected principal sir, esteemed Management members, very proud parents, my team of key functionaries ie. Teachers and my dear lovely students, a very warm  morning. Today is very special in the calendar of the school, as it is the 4th Annual Day of our school. And as the vice Principal of the school I feel humbled and proud to stand in front of you to see heading the institution towards the excellence. I take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt greetings to you all and welcome you to the Gyansh Fest-2022.

The annual day in any school has traditionally been signified as the day when the co-scholastic activities take precedence over academics. It is also a day when we take pause of the year gone by, review the achievements and innovations. Tracing the journey of Gyansh from the year of inception, it was indeed from very modest and humble beginnings to a full- fledged school as we see today. I feel that the past three years only prepared us for the flight that we wished to take, to take us to greater heights in the coming years.

The School Annual Day is also a time for recognition and fame, a time for awards and rewards. In our experience students learn best in an environment of fairness. It is our sacred responsibility to ensure that this is met at all times. I would now like to touch base with some of the improvements in infrastructure and facilities brought in the recent year.

The school infrastructure has stood in pride in 5acre campus with 22 classrooms, a play way activity room, individual areas for co-curricular activities such as music, arts, and sports. Our school is well equipped with digital AC classrooms, sophisticated computer lab, well stocked library, composite science lab which imparts exceptional learning experiences. Wi-fi connectivity has been provided in major areas of the school and to strengthen the security, we have installed CCTV cameras in all the class rooms and corridors. Various other measures have also been taken to tighten up the student’s security including restricted visitor’s entry and outpasses, appointing lady conductors and hygiene staffs thereby making our school as secure as possible.

“It is the teacher that makes the change, not the mere class room.” We believe in equipping our teachers to prepare the students for the future and to update their knowledge. So the school arranges various Teacher Orientation Programmes and trainings suggested by CBSE.

With the dedication and hardwork of our highly experienced team of 33 teachers, and 19 non-teaching staffs we made it possible to cross the strength of our students to 620 till today though the school started in the pandemic time. The most surprising thing was the wonderful response of our parents, that our Nursery seats got filled by the end of the August and we had to close the admission.

ACADEMICS

Moving on to Academics, learning in the 21st centuary is incomplete if we are unable to link it with the practical experiences of the world and expose our students to the activities outside the reality. We have taken the conscious step to link the class room learning with the visits outside. Our first trip was organized in the month of May to Chhatbir Zoo, Zirakpur that helped our students to comprehend the wonders of the nature. The school has also organized a 5-days study tour to Jaipur, where they visited Jantar-Mantar, City Palace, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, Albert hall museum etc. An in house picnic was also arranged in the school on September for our tiny tots with many amusing riders, bouncers, water-pool, pressure rocket, where they enjoyed at its fullest.

“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation.” Coming to their Academic excellence, our students have outclassed in National competitive Examinations conducted by SOF and creative writing and painting competetions conducted by All India Citizens Development Centre. And I proudly state that our school received the Best School Award and the Ideal Principal award.

I consider 2022 as the year of many academic initiatives. We introduced Art integration with all the other subjects. Explanation through practical experiments was given priority in major subjects like Maths, Science, SSt. and IT. We have also arranged Remedial classes for slow learners where extra efforts are given to bring them up at par with the rest of the class. Special cursive handwriting classes are also organized throughout the session to improve the student’s writing. Value based classes are also organized frequently to inculcate good moral values in our students.

Socrates, a great philosopher said “Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” Every child, during his or her school life, is exposed to various learning experiences that contribute a lot in developing his or her personality. We have left no stone unturned to provide them various opportunities and to make them efficient and courageous. We make them vibrant and creative helping them to grow in a better way. School Assemblies also provide ample opportunities for all our students to come forth with self-courage and express their abilities of public speaking.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Co- curricular activities are an essential part of school life and they enable children to develop confidence, patience and a sense of responsibility among them. For grades 1st to VIII hobby classes are organized twice a week where students select the hobby of his or her own choice from a list of various hobbies like Foot- ball, Cricket, Music, Dance, Badminton, Graphic designing, Karate, Cookery, Art and Craft, Calligraphy and Maths Gym. And students undergo extensive trainings under the guidance of the expert teachers.

Various Inter-house competetions were conducted this year to bring confidence in the young minds.  Clay Modelling, Greeting card making, Rangoli making, Painting competition, Poster making, Quiz, Solo Dance, Show and Tell Competition, Speech competition, Poem recitation, Mimicry and Mono act were some of the main attractions. The school had also organized a Veg Fest in the month of May where all the four houses displayed their carving and cooking talents. Apart from this, various intra class competitions are also held on every Tuesday to make sure the active participation of every child. The school is celebrating all the National, Religious and Regional festivals to enrich the children about the rich cultural and religious heritage of India. These celebrations sensitize our students towards living in harmony and paying respect to the customs and traditions of all religions.

A cancer awareness programme was conducted by the Physical Education Department in collaboration with Caring Souls Foundation and students were made aware about the causes and preventive measures of cancer. Many of our students took initiative to spread the awareness among their family members and neighbours and collected donations from them to help the needy cancer patients.

SPORTS AND GAMES

Along with academics, Sports is an integral part of the school curriculum. Students are motivated and guided to be physically fit and mentally alert as “a Sound mind resides in a healthy body only.” Various indoor and outdoor games were organized throughout the session. Special evening coaching classes were also arranged after school hours under the leadership of our respected chairman Rubinder sir and the PT teacher Mr. Manjinder Singh. Expertising a particular game is not normally possible in day schooling. But we made it possible by focusing one particular game in each month and by giving extensive trainings during all PT periods. In this way students have been trained in various games including cricket, foot- ball, badminton etc.  And at the end of every month Inter-house tournaments were conducted where each house gave a tough nail biting competition to their opponents. And Satluj house won all the three tournaments.

The Annual Athletic Meet was another attraction of the year. It was held from 10 November to 12 November. It was organized in the school campus. The selection of students for each event was done house wise by the house masters where every student was given a chance of trial for every event before the final selection. Students of all the four houses took part in all the events with high energy and great spirit.  Satluj house won the Inter house Sports Champions Trophy with 139 points and Ravi house stood second with 121 points.

Our school presented an admirable commitment in Inter-School Games 2022 as well. 90 of our students have participated zonal level. Out of them 13 are selected for district level. We proudly announce our young stars Yuvraaj Randhawa of class VIII and Kiv Randhawa of class V set high standards by participating in State Level Foot ball tournament and rendered tough competition to their opponents.

We take this opportunity to commit ourselves to do our best to serve this locality through quality education. We believe that we could do a wonderful job in the past years and our esteemed parents have expressed their high level of satisfaction regarding the Academic as well as Co-curricular activities offered at Gyansh. We will continue our unceasing efforts to offer best provision of education for our community. I would like to dedicate whatever we achieve, to our beloved students, committed team of teachers, other staff members and valued parents of Gyansh Global School. I thank our management team for their wholehearted encouragement and continued support. A special thanks and appreciation for their initiative for the expansion of the building with more infrastructure facilities.

We seek the blessing from the almighty God to help and guide us in the right direction.
Thank you.
